Post-Operative Care

Arestin is a brand name medication that treats periodontitis, a severe bacterial gum disease. Arestin kills or prevents the growth of bacteria in your mouth. It can also reduce gum inflammation.

Please follow the recommendations below after Arestin treatment.

  1. Mile to moderate sensitivity is normal during the first week.
  2. Wait at least 12 hours before brushing teeth in the area where Arestin was placed.
  3. Wait at least 10 days before using floss, toothpicks or water flosser devices around treated area.
  4. Avoid eating hard, crunch or sticky foods for one week.
  5. Avoid touching the treated area.
